If the Shoe Fits...

Then I should definitely pack it. And I do. Every time. I am the worst packer in the world. I always pack too much. No matter how many times I get the dirty look from the woman at the baggage drop in the airport or have to repack 3 or 4 outfits I never wore at the end of a trip, I never learn my lesson. Here's the thing, with my clothes, like in life in general, I hate to be unprepared. What if there's a draft? What if it rains? What if we decide to use the pool? Believe me, I think of everything. And then I add it to the suitcase. This weekend I am attending the American Association of Women Dentists conference in Carlsbad at a gorgeous resort. I took the small suitcase out of the closet and have resolved that I can pack no more than that. Cosmetics and shoes in my monogrammed boat tote. Conference necessities such as tablet and business cards in my new Michael Kors Jetsetter. See too much! But gosh darn it, if there's an unexpected tropical storm, blizzard or surprise gala I will have something to wear. You can bet money on that.

Here is a picture of me being a nut on the 16th hole at the ASDA golf tournament this past Friday. Dress and hat from Nectar, Claremont; Necklace from J.Crew Factory.

Well, not really. But sometimes when I have had a long week at school or things just are not going my way I cheer myself up with shoes. Shoes always fit. They make you stand taller, walk more confidently and can really get someone's attention. Boat shoes, platforms, spike heels. I don't discriminate. I love them all. Shoes make me happy. Don't judge.
